Frequently Asked Questions: Lenexa bike share

What is Bike Share KC: Lenexa?

Bike Share KC: Lenexa is a partnership of City of Lenexa, BikeWalkKC, and Drop Mobility. The system is operated by BikeWalkKC and powered by Drop Mobility’s hardware and software.

What are these Bike Share KC electric bikes like?

Imagine a bike that is always ready to ride, where and when you want to ride it, up whatever hills you want to climb. The tires are always inflated and the chain is never rusty. A bike with a basket to carry your gear. A bike that fits people tall and small, with front and rear lights and a bell. That’s a Bike Share KC bike.

The motor turns on automatically when you start pedaling. When you encounter a hill, just keep pedaling with the same effort and rhythm you used on flat ground and the motor will give you an extra boost to climb the hill! The motor stops running when you stop pedaling, and tops out at 20 mph.
